Buranath Samutrak, spokesman of the Democrat party, said on Saturday that he felt the red-shirts try to provoke violence in the country.
Mr Buranath admitted that he was worried about the planned mass gathering of the red-shirted supporters of the United front for Democracy against Dictatorship on October 17.
“The Asean summit will take place in Hua Hin and Cha Am on October 23-25 and if the rally of the red-shirts turns violence, it would affect the crucial international meeting”, he said.
He called on all parties to support the government’s plan to enforce the Internal Security Act in Petchburi and Prachuab Khiri Khan to ensure peace and order during the Asean summit.
